Wow and just like that, I’m a year into my mission and I hit my third area! This past week has had lots of great new beginnings! Well to start off the week I come into my new area and we are volunteering at a Tall Ship Festival (Pirates of the Caribbean ships) and we were outside for a really long time and well I (being my normal self not using sunscreen) got sunburned really bad! But, lucky enough it will just turn into a really nice farmer’s tan the next day! We here in Miramichi, NB and we watch church on Skype from our building. Well since it was a new transfer we had Zone Conference yesterday! It was such a good one! We talked a lot about our goal for church attendance (investigator attendance) and we came to the conclusion that, “Do we as missionaries really know why we go to church? We are out preaching about it but do we as members really now why we go to church?” We had a couple more trainings from the Zone Leaders and STL’s, then Sister Pratt and President Pratt came and gave their training. Sister Pratt talked a lot about our own potential – she put it into this equation;
Potential + Training – Interference = High Performance
I really liked how we all have potential and when we receive training how to become better and use it there will be better performance. But, there is some type of interference (sadness, anger, arrogance, etc.) that we have to put behind us so that we can become the best we can! President Pratt’s training went really along with Sister Pratt’s because he talked about Alma 32 and compared it to Moroni’s promise (Moroni 10: 3-5).
27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
This verse is an action verse and there are four things that tell us what to do to have action.
1. Awake and Arouse our Faculties
2. Experiment upon my words
3. Desire to Believe
4. Give place for a portion of my words
I challenge everybody to give portion to the Word of God and to follow Moroni’s Promise every time we read the Book Of Mormon. I know that our Savior lives and loves each and everyone of us!
Love you all!
