Another Month Bites the Dust…

Well this week has been awesome! So many good experiences have happened! Well to start I am not getting transferred out of Saint John!! This week has had lots of ups and downs too, but that is what life is about – ups and downs. We can learn from them and to better help our eternal progression! I have been reading lots of, “Jesus The Christ” lately and I was reading the part about praying. One part really stuck out to me and it reads:

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”: The first part of this petition has occasioned comment and question. We are not to understand that god would ever lead a man into temptation except, perhaps, by the way of wise permission, to test and prove him, thereby affording him the opportunity of overcoming and so of gaining spiritual strength, which is the only true advancement in man’s eternal course of progress. The one purpose of providing bodies for the preexistence spirits of the race, and of advancing them to the mortal state, was to “prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their god shall command them.” The plan of mortality involved the certainly of temptation. The intent of the supplication appears to be that we be preserved from temptation beyond our weak powers to withstand; that we be not abandoned to temptation without the divine support that shall be as full a measure of protection as our exercise of choice will allow.”

We are on this earth to progress towards our Heavenly Father and when we do slip up and sometimes we are let go to have us realize that what we did was wrong and now we need to use the Atonement to help us come back and closer to Christ and Our Heavenly Father! It is an eternal gift from our father in heaven!

Alma 34:8-10

“8 And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

9 For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.

10 For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.”

I know that as we use this wonderful gift in our life, we will be able to feel our Savior’s love and our Heavenly Father’s love more and more! I know this church is true and I know that we all make mistakes in life but if we use the wonderful gift of the Atonement in our life we will progress the way our Heavenly Father wants us to progress!

Well I know this email is way long but I know the Atonement is real and it does work!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Still want to hear from people!

Love,

Elder Golder
